Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory Recovers After Brain Surgery

The guitarist reveals he underwent surgery to remove three brain tumors last month, stating his recovery is progressing.

Chad Gilbert, guitarist for long-running pop-punk band New Found Glory, has shared that he underwent major surgery last month to remove three brain tumors. The news was confirmed in a statement to Rolling Stone.

Gilbert described the process as a “bumpy” recovery but offered a positive update on his current condition. “I’m feeling much better now and getting stronger by the day,” he said. No further details regarding the type of tumors or his long-term prognosis were disclosed.

The guitarist has been a consistent figure in the punk and alternative scene for over two decades, both with New Found Glory and through various production and collaborative work. His health update brings a personal dimension to the band’s ongoing activity, which includes scheduled festival appearances later this year.
