The Brighton festival sees the music publication curate a two-stage lineup at Patterns on Thursday, May 14, with acts from Ireland, Canada, and South Korea.
Clash magazine will host a stage at The Great Escape this year, taking over the beachfront venue Patterns on Thursday, May 14. The publication has programmed two rooms for the evening. Downstairs, the music begins at 6pm with three acts from notably different corners of the current underground.
Irish group Really Good Time open the bill. Toronto’s Clothesline From Hell brings a solo, experimental approach. South Korean psychedelic outfit Wah Wah Wah close the downstairs lineup. The contrasts suggest a curation that leans into range over stylistic cohesion, a choice consistent with Clash’s broad editorial lens.
The Great Escape has built its reputation as a place where new artists surface and small scenes find a wider audience. A media-branded stage, in this context, becomes more than just a showcase. It reflects what the outlet considers worth paying attention to. Details of the upstairs program have not been announced.
