dahms comes from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Time in Pittsburgh and New York City shaped the work. He moves across music, visual art, and streetwear. The music began as therapeutic expression and grew into a place for reflection and the pursuit of something larger. Most of DAHMS4U was written and produced in a single weekend in Boston. He handled composition, arrangement, recording, mixing, and mastering himself. The project sits on streaming as an album. He built it as an EP, a snapshot of the last three or four years and a preview of the direction he intends to take.

In the steel towns around Pittsburgh the mills once ran on bells. One signal meant the pour was starting. Another meant the shift had ended. Once the metal moved it did not wait for anyone still walking from the lot. Money now moves the same way. A wire clears. The account goes up. The people who knew the old routes are left leaving messages that never catch the moment they were meant to reach. That is the distance DAHMS4U keeps measuring.
The EP tracks the human cost of that sudden rise. Wealth arrives. The ties that once held do not. Family concern, romantic hesitation, and old friends reappear as screen-mediated contact or plain opportunism. Every title ends in 4U. The dedication stays constant even while the addressee grows farther away. The phone becomes the object that carries the whole record. Voicemails, bank calls, jealousy over a screen, and the refusal to answer any of it.
1-8004U (CALLIN4U) opens inside that archive. Nana’s voice asks why he is dropping out of school. Later she calls again to wish him a happy birthday and say she loves him. Between those messages Kyle from PNC Bank notes that the account is up as fuck and asks to be put on. A line from London on payphones sits in the middle. The relationship went from physical to digital. Low-fidelity filters and delayed echoes turn the last words of each message into something that keeps bouncing after the line has already closed. The delivery stays low and measured until the final birthday greeting lands against the banker’s request. The isolation is no longer implied. It is on the tape.
UP4U answers with velocity. The beat is dense and nocturnal, saturated bass under sharp trap percussion, then sirens and layered synths on the hook. The lyric treats money as the only language left. If you are not speaking it, the rest sounds like Spanish. He walks into the bank with a Drac and tells everyone to put their hands up. The room looks like a Rubik’s Cube after a few shrooms. Lawrenceville is named. He bought the view and now he is in the building, which means he cannot fall for you. The flow stays relaxed and almost sleepy even when the imagery turns aggressive. The confidence reads as armor. The beat switch into the chorus does not resolve the armor. It only makes the armor louder.

SKYSCRAPER4U keeps the same elevation. Rooftops, cash cow language, the refusal of Chrome Hearts and Balenciaga because other people wear them. New York is the setting. The production stays suspended, pads softening the trap drums until the rhythm thins. Then the armor cracks in a spoken close. Everything I do is for you, honestly, you will never know that. He finds faces and sees her in every one, but he cannot fall in love with them because something about her just stuck. The shift from flex to that quiet admission is abrupt. The earlier boasts do not cancel the confession. They sit beside it, unfinished.
FIREWORKS4U holds the same hesitation in a different temperature. Watery synths and a constant pulse sit under the admission that he does not know how she feels, so he does not make a move. He is afraid that if he does he might lose her. When he is with her he is on the moon and still looking up. The delivery stays soft and slightly distant until the second verse, where the phrasing tightens around the line that he cannot be friends with her. The desire is clear. The risk of speaking it is clearer.
CHIRP4U 24U splits itself in half to make the same point. The first section is loose and almost playful. Everything he earns on his solo means his mama hits the jackpot. You ain’t Raising Cane’s, raise your wage instead. Then the spoken section arrives. Everybody wants to talk shit behind a screen. In his face it is all smiles. After that the beat turns colder, a syncopated synth riff under wider reverb. Too young, too late to call. From the ’Burgh, not Philly. The close is direct. For y’all, fuck you. The production change does the work the lyric only names. The old circle is cut off because the old circle only calls when the money is visible.
MAKEUP4U sits inside the daily friction that remains. The title plays on makeup and making up. Going through the phone starts the doubt. The morning routine is wake up, bake up, roll another one. ’Til death do us dirty or we break up. The same track refuses the artificial. No makeup, no fake butt or boobies. Took a while to get here, at peace with appearance. Got a million dollar smile, do not need those veneers. The flow stays conversational and lightly echoed. Even the argument does not raise the temperature. The self-acceptance is stated without ceremony, which is how it lands.
FLOWERS4U (feat. 8theroach & Merkeba) closes the arc. The beat was made in Boston while looking at flowers. A muted piano sample and warm keys sit under a soft, dragging drum pattern. Three deliveries move through the track. One is relaxed and colloquial. One is darker and almost hypnotic. One is rougher and more urgent. Chaos is me, so he cannot give anyone a rose. She just wants her flowers, acknowledgement of blossom. She births, she feeds, and she works, she is exhausted. Woman is the giving tree. Everyone’s a prostitute, pimping out our time until nature decides to make a move. Then the flowers bloom, green, pink, and blue. He saved a bundle of them. He picked them for you. The botanical image does not decorate the record. It names the quiet labor that the earlier tracks kept at a distance.

DAHMS4U does not celebrate the rise and then add a reflective coda. It keeps the rise and the cost inside the same space. The production, self-made and mostly completed in one Boston weekend, matches that compression. Bass-heavy, watery, and full of sudden openings, it leaves room for the messages that never quite connect. What remains is the address. Every track is still for someone. The someone is harder to reach than the money was. That is the weight the record holds.
