Factory Floor will release One Trip, their first studio album in ten years, digitally on 27th November, with a vinyl edition following on 4th December. The record runs to ten tracks and arrives from the current formation of Gabe Gurnsey, Nik Colk Void and new member Joe Ward.
The album grew out of a set the group played at MUTEK in Montréal in 2024, after returning from an extended hiatus. That performance, according to the band, gave the project its momentum. In a collective statement, the group said: "After the MUTEK performance, we felt an appetite" to continue writing. Two tracks from the record, "Continuation" and the title track, are already available.
Factory Floor have held a distinctive place in British electronic music since emerging in the late 2000s, building a reputation on live performance and a sound that sits between industrial repetition and dancefloor logic. A decade between albums is a long silence for a group with that kind of presence, and the return carries the weight of a scene that has kept circling their influence in the years since. The MUTEK booking stands as the catalyst: a festival engagement that turned into a reason to write again, and a new line-up that has reshaped the project.
What gives this announcement its weight is the combination of timing and formation. A ten-year gap, a new member, and a live set that opened a door all point to a record made from necessity. One Trip will be judged on whether that appetite translates into a body of work with the same clarity and pressure the group have long carried on stage. The two released tracks suggest the intent is intact. The rest arrives in late November.
