The band’s grotesque stage personas move into Digital Dreams Entertainment’s hyper-violent football game this October.
GWAR’s live spectacle has long leaned on cartoonish violence, so a hyper-violent football game is less a departure than a natural extension. The band will appear in Mutant Football League 2 through the Antarctica Scumdogs DLC, scheduled for October 2026.
Digital Dreams Entertainment president Michael Mendheim framed the addition as a response to repeated player requests, promising the seven-character team would be the deadliest in the game. The roster includes Blöthar the Berserker, BälSäc the Jaws ‘O Death, JiZMak Da Gusha, Grodius Maximus, Beefcake the Mighty, Sawborg Destructo, and Bonesnapper. A GWAR-specific stadium is also part of the package.
The game itself places teams on fields filled with buzzsaws and landmines against skeletons, orcs, and demons. In that context, GWAR’s sci-fi grotesquerie fits without needing much explanation. Vocalist Blöthar described the collaboration as a move to the frozen tundra where killing is the only thing.
A playable demo will be at PAX West in Seattle from September 4–7. GWAR’s North American tour begins September 19 and runs through December 12.
