Drake Sets a Date for the Still-Unclear FOMO Project

Drake has given his next project a title and a release time, but not much else. Fear of Missing Out is scheduled to reveal itself on Sept. 15 at 9 p.m. on YouTube. It remains unclear whether that timestamp refers to Eastern, Pacific, or local time.

The announcement follows a slow, deliberately opaque rollout. Last month, Drake posted family photos with the caption “FOMO 2026.” Two weeks later, he shared an image of a CD cover bearing the title “Fear of Missing Out.” Online speculation has framed the project as anything from an album to a tour or a music video, though it could be something else entirely.

This is familiar territory for Drake. In April, he hid the release date for his Iceman trilogy inside a block of ice placed in a downtown Toronto parking lot. Fans climbed the block with sledgehammers, and one brought a blowtorch and hairspray, trying to reach the reveal.

Earlier this week, Drake appeared at Don Toliver’s Toronto show and performed tracks from Iceman live for the first time. He thanked the crowd and called it the first time he had performed the album since it dropped. Whether that appearance connects to FOMO remains unanswered.

For now, the date is set. The meaning is not.
