Hoobastank Cancel Six-Date Brazil Tour, Citing Logistical Costs

Hoobastank have scrapped their entire 2026 Brazil run less than two weeks before the first date, pointing to costs that made the shows “impossible” to stage. Two Brazilian festivals are adjusting their lineups.

Hoobastank have canceled their 2026 Brazil tour, six dates that would have been the band’s first Brazilian performances in nearly 11 years. The announcement came on October 21, roughly ten days before the run was due to open at the Somos Rock Festival in Vila Velha on November 1.

In a statement, the band attributed the decision to economics rather than demand. “Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be canceling our Brazil 2026 Tour,” they wrote. “We were very excited to return to Brazil after many years, but unfortunately, rising logistical costs have made it impossible for us to make this tour work at this time.”

The itinerary had been built around festival slots at both ends, with headline shows in Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Campinas and São Paulo in between, closing November 8 at the Rock Festival in Nova Iguaçu. Both festivals are proceeding. Somos Rock will not replace the band, while Rock Festival Nova Iguaçu has added Brazilian rock group Fresno to its November 8 lineup.

The timing leaves little room for a rebound. No replacement dates have been announced, though the band said it hopes to arrange another tour “in the near future.” Hoobastank, best known for the 2004 single “The Reason,” released “How Do You Sleep?” in July, their first new material since 2018. Their November 20 date at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood with Audiovent remains scheduled, ahead of a North American arena run with Staind and Seether beginning March 4, 2027.
