Four defining acts of the 80s new wave and synth-pop era will share a stage this summer for a cross-continent amphitheater tour.
Howard Jones has assembled a package tour of era-defining 80s talent. The Things Can Only Get Better Tour will feature Jones alongside Wang Chung, The English Beat, and Modern English for a summer run across US and Canadian amphitheaters.
Each act is confirmed to perform a full set, moving beyond a standard festival billing. Radio personality Richard Blade will host the shows. The tour’s title and stated aim, taken from Jones’s 1985 hit, frames the run as a deliberate exercise in nostalgic uplift.
In a statement, Jones positioned the tour as a personal curation, born from a desire to gather favorite bands and project positivity. The lineup represents a specific strand of 80s pop, merging synth-driven hooks with ska and post-punk rhythms, now aimed at large-scale outdoor venues decades after their chart peaks.
