The singer’s upcoming tour loses a trio of dates, including the originally scheduled opener in Chicago, with no official comment on the reason.
Kacey Musgraves has removed three dates from her Middle of Nowhere Tour without public explanation, ticketholders confirmed in notifications sent over the weekend. The cancellations affect the August 20 show in Chicago, August 29 in Boston, and September 2 in Brooklyn — each a secondary date added after strong initial demand in those markets.
Refunds are being processed. The tour will now launch August 21 at Chicago’s United Center, while the originally announced shows in Boston (TD Garden, August 28) and New York (Madison Square Garden, August 31 and September 1) remain on the schedule. Multi-night runs in Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Seattle are untouched.
Musgraves, currently on holiday in Greece, has not addressed the changes. Speculation among fans has settled on soft ticket sales — the phenomenon colloquially called “blue dot fever” — as the likely trigger. That only the second-tier dates were cut lends weight to the theory, though no official comment has been issued.
The North American leg runs through October 27 in Seattle, followed by a brief Australian tour in January 2027 and European dates in February.
