Kam Lee takes over vocal duties for Benediction’s Latin American run, filling in for longtime frontman Dave Ingram, who is dealing with ongoing health issues.
Benediction have confirmed that Kam Lee will handle vocals for the band’s 2026 tour of Latin America. The Massacre vocalist steps in for Dave Ingram, who is stepping back to manage persistent health problems. The details of Ingram’s condition were not shared, but the decision to recast the vocal spot points to a serious need for consistency on the road.
Lee’s presence carries more than stand-in weight. As the voice on Massacre’s early demos and a founding figure in the Florida death metal scene, his vocal style has always leaned toward guttural brutality. The pairing with Benediction, a band whose own roots trace back to the earliest days of UK death metal, is not random. It’s the kind of substitution that relies on overlapping histories and shared ground in a niche corner of the scene.
Benediction have dealt with lineup shifts before. Ingram himself returned to the band in 2019 after a long absence. But bringing in Lee for a full regional run is a short-term measure that will almost certainly reshape the set, if only because his delivery is different from Ingram’s commanding rasp. Touring a slice of South and Central America—where death metal crowds often reward rawness over polish—might just suit that shift.
No further dates or venue details were included in the announcement. The tour is expected to run in 2026, with Lee fronting the band for the full Latin American leg.
