Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley Reunite on New Duet ‘Jaded’

The Texas songwriter pairs again with Langley for a mid-tempo lament about emotional distance and shared disillusionment.

Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley have returned to the duet format with “Jaded,” a new single that follows their 2022 gold-certified collaboration “That’s Why We Fight.” Written by Wetzel, Langley, Jordan Schmidt, and Ernest, the track turns a shared question — “How did you get so jaded?” — into a slow-burning study of relationships worn down by past disappointments.

Wetzel describes Langley’s delivery as precise and affecting. “When she delivers a line, you believe it,” he told Rolling Stone. “In ‘Jaded,’ as she’s asking the questions in the chorus … she delivers it with so much care in her voice it draws you in right before it stabs you in the fucking gut.”

The release lands amid a productive stretch for both artists. Langley’s single “Choosin’ Texas” and her album Dandelion have been gathering momentum, while Wetzel’s own The Night Champion arrived in June, with “Jaded” surfacing as one of several post-album tracks. He’s currently on an extensive tour that has moved from amphitheaters to arenas, with dates across North America, Europe, and Australia.

Wetzel’s collaborations extend beyond Langley: his 2024 single “High Road” featuring Jessie Murph topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. His writing leans toward unguarded honesty, something he says won’t change. “I’m the kind of guy that’s always gonna be brutally honest when it comes to lyrics,” he told Rolling Stone. “This record really embodied the wild, crazy, says-whatever type of guy I’ve been.”
