Madison Beer and Justin Herbert Are Engaged

The pop singer’s public relationship with the Chargers quarterback moves from quiet appearances to a formal announcement.

Madison Beer has announced her engagement to Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. The news arrives less than a year after the pop singer’s latest album, Locket, which traced the emotional fallout of a previous relationship. A short Instagram caption on Sunday—”Meet my fiancé”—accompanied photographs of what appeared to be a garden proposal.

The couple had been seen together since August, when photographs from the set of one of Beer’s videos first sparked dating speculation. Their public appearances gradually became more deliberate: hand-in-hand dinners, a kiss on the sideline at SoFi Stadium before a Chargers game, a viral moment when Herbert blocked a ball from hitting Beer at a Lakers game. By October, they attended a World Series game together at Dodger Stadium.

Beer addressed the relationship with unusual candor during an appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy last year. Asked how a partner had supported her mental health recovery, she described Herbert as “fully supportive,” a rare direct reference in a pop landscape where personal lives are often either carefully obscured or aggressively marketed.

No release plans or joint projects have been mentioned. For now, the engagement stands as a private development made public with little ceremony—a tone Beer’s recent songwriting, which favors directness over drama, has prepared her audience for.
