Moog Music has revealed a limited-run Bob Moog Tribute Edition of its Minimoog Model D reissue, with only 500 units to be produced.
Moog Music has introduced a limited edition of its Minimoog Model D reissue, named for its founder. The Bob Moog Tribute Edition will be restricted to 500 units globally.
Each unit will be assembled by hand at the company’s facility in North Carolina. The synth is described as a celebration of Bob Moog’s legacy and his approach to instrument design.
In terms of functionality, the tribute model is identical to the Minimoog Model D reissue that Moog released in 2022. That instrument was a faithful analog recreation of the classic 1970s synthesizer, incorporating some contemporary technical refinements while preserving the original signal path and sound.
The release acts as a commemorative object, focusing on the instrument’s historical significance rather than introducing new features. Its limited nature underscores its position as a collector’s item within the continuum of analog synthesis.
