The singer will fill a Saturday slot after a last-minute cancellation, while also engaging with online political discourse through parody.
Kacey Musgraves has been added to the lineup for Coachella’s second weekend. She is scheduled for an early Saturday set on the festival’s main stage.
The booking comes as a replacement for Rezz, the Ukrainian Canadian DJ who withdrew from the festival citing health reasons. Rezz stated a need to address ongoing physical issues after pushing through discomfort.
Separately, Musgraves created a parody of a since deleted AI generated image posted by Donald Trump. The original post depicted an artificial intelligence version of Jesus Christ, shared amid a public dispute with the Pope.
Musgraves’s Coachella appearance follows a recent surprise tribute set to country duo Brooks and Dunn in Nashville. Her booking continues the festival’s pattern of last minute additions for its second weekend, placing her within a broader pop and crossover context.
