Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s 25th Anniversary Benefit Moves to Hollywood Palladium

Silverlake Conservatory of Music is marking its 25th anniversary with a benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium on Oct. 17, moving away from its usual private dinner format. Announced performers include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Grohl, and Vince Staples, with the full lineup expected to be revealed later.

Founded in 2001 by Michael “Flea” Balzary, Keith “Tree” Barry, and Peter Weiss, the nonprofit provides music lessons to more than 900 students each week across Los Angeles. Its scholarship program supports more than 200 students whose families cannot otherwise afford lessons, instruments, supplies, or ensemble classes.

The Palladium show aims to raise $1.5 million to fund the conservatory’s programming for the coming year. That goal gives the anniversary a working function: it is a fundraising effort built around the organization’s role in filling music education gaps within L.A. public schools, not just a milestone celebration.
