Skrillex and Chase & Status Share ‘Essa Ta Quente’ After Boomtown Preview

The track arrives without advance notice and will appear on Generic Everything, the October project featuring J Hus and Little Simz.

Skrillex and Chase & Status released “Essa Ta Quente” with no prior announcement, shortly after the track was aired at Boomtown. The single is part of Generic Everything, which is scheduled for October and includes contributions from J Hus and Little Simz.

The release gives the collaboration a firmer placement than a one-off festival moment. By attaching “Essa Ta Quente” to an album timeline, the two producers move the track from live context into a wider project with named guests from outside their immediate electronic circle.

Little Simz and J Hus point toward a record that does not rely on a single dance-floor register. Chase & Status have spent recent years pulling UK rap voices into heavier production, while Skrillex’s recent output has favored sharper, more direct structures. That overlap leaves room for Generic Everything to operate between festival heft and vocal-led tracks.

For now, “Essa Ta Quente” works as an early signal. It confirms the collaboration is active and places the project on a concrete schedule. October will show whether the album holds more than the momentum of its first public airing.
