Springsteen Center Opens with All-Star American Music Concerts

The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music will launch with two concerts featuring an extensive lineup of artists performing landmark songs.

The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music is opening with a major statement. Its inaugural event is a two night concert series called Music America: The Songs That Shaped Us, scheduled for June 4 and 5 in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

The lineup spans genres and generations. It includes Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Jackson Browne, Public Enemy, Mavis Staples, Gary Clark Jr., Kenny Chesney, Rosanne Cash, and Trombone Shorty. Steven Van Zandt’s Disciples of Soul will act as the house band for the shows.

The concerts serve as a lead in to the center’s official ribbon cutting on June 7. They are also framed as part of the national semiquincentennial celebration. The programming immediately establishes the center’s intent to examine American music history through a broad, collaborative lens.
