The donation will help cover daily expenses for Ashley Taunton and her family as she recovers from being struck by a hydroplaning vehicle.
Taylor Swift has given $50,000 to a GoFundMe supporting Ashley Taunton, her husband Joe, and their three children after Taunton was struck by a car while helping others. According to the fundraising page, Taunton had pulled over during heavy rain to assist someone involved in an earlier accident. While she was helping, another vehicle hydroplaned toward the scene; Taunton pushed a bystander out of the way and was hit herself.
She has already undergone two major surgeries, with more scheduled. The GoFundMe covers daily expenses so the family can focus on her recovery. In the page’s comment section, Swift left a message: “Wishing you the best recovery possible and sending love to your family!”
The donation aligns with Swift’s pattern of direct, case-specific giving. Most recently, Swift and Travis Kelce donated $26 million across 20 U.S. charities, including food banks and children’s organizations tied to cities with personal significance. This smaller intervention is tied to a single local emergency rather than an institutional campaign, placing the focus on the family’s immediate needs after an act of roadside assistance turned dangerous.
