The Chats have announced a 30-date North American headline tour for spring 2027, running from April 7 at The UC Theatre in Berkeley, California, to May 18 at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood. Chainwhip and Gymshorts open across the run. Pre-sale opens today, November 4, at noon local time through Ticketmaster, with general sale Friday, November 6, at 10 a.m. local time.

The dates follow the March 5 release of Half Cut, the band's third album, announced alongside lead single "Off It." The routing is unusually thorough for a punk band of their size: Bend, Boise, Omaha, Kansas City, DeLand, St. Augustine. Those stops are where a touring band builds a following one town at a time, and the Chats have been doing that since they were teenagers in Coolum Beach.

Look at the Florida leg. Five shows in five days, from Miami Beach to Fort Myers to St. Petersburg to DeLand to St. Augustine, before the tour turns west through Texas and the Southwest. That is a schedule built for a band that treats the road as the work, with the album as its soundtrack. The same logic holds in Canada: Toronto's Danforth Music Hall, Montreal's L'Olympia, Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom, all rooms with history and none of them arenas.

The European and UK leg follows in the fall, September 9 in Helsinki through three nights at London's Electric Ballroom ending October 23, with two nights at Amsterdam's Paradiso along the way. Glasgow gets Barrowland, which has absorbed louder nights than most.

Our earlier coverage of the band has tracked a group whose humor and speed have never quite disguised how carefully they operate. Riot Fest this year showed the same instinct in a festival setting. A 30-show club tour, booked six months before the album lands, is a statement about where they think the record belongs: close enough to the front row that the sweat is part of the sound.

Watch the video for "Off It" below. The tour is the argument; the single is the opening line.
