Ziemba Details New Album The Braid, Shares “We Implode”

“I wrote this song across the course of a decade,” Ziemba’s René Kladzyk says of “We Implode.” That timeline is audible in the track’s unhurried movement—it doesn’t force a climax so much as look back at one from a careful distance.

The song is the latest preview from The Braid, Kladzyk’s forthcoming album, which she will self-release on October 2. It follows earlier singles “The Perfect Rose” and “The Pleasure Seekers,” both of which share a similar resistance to easy categorization. Across these tracks, Ziemba works between songwriting, performance, and visual presentation without letting any one mode dominate.

In the new video, directed by Laura Bartczak and Liz Charky, the visual treatment stays close to that restraint. The song itself turns on plainspoken lines: “It’s funny and sad / How big it all appeared / The world remade in visions of a dream we shared / And now there’s nothing there.” Kladzyk isn’t reaching for drama. She’s naming what remains.

“We Implode” doesn’t announce itself as a return. It carries the weight of time spent living inside a song, and that makes the self-released album feel less like a product cycle than a deliberate arrival.
