1000 Rabbits’ Debut EP Captures Two Years Spent at the Centre of Brixton’s Windmill

The London five-piece, longtime regulars at the celebrated venue, release ‘Are we friends yet?’ on Young, wrapping violin, guitar and drums around songs built for motion.

London five-piece 1000 Rabbits have released their debut EP, “Are we friends yet?”, on Young. The record distils two years of gigging and writing into a taut art-pop statement, landing just as the band sheds its former name, Rabbitfoot.

Violinist Laura, synth player Liv, guitarist Paolo, vocalist River and drummer Luke built their reputation without shortcuts. Most of them met as teenagers at a music club in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, reconnecting later in London where they quickly became a fixture at The Windmill in Brixton. Their sets at that venue earned real word-of-mouth traction, a reputation forged on physical energy
