Klang.io Launches AI Transcription Tool for Multi-Instrument Recordings

The new Transcription Studio software aims to automatically convert complex audio recordings into notation, tabs, or MIDI data.

Berlin-based startup Klang.io has released Transcription Studio, an AI-powered software tool designed to transcribe polyphonic audio recordings into musical notation. The company positions it as the first tool capable of simultaneously identifying and notating multiple instruments from a single source file.

The software processes audio to generate editable sheet music, guitar tablature, or MIDI data. This addresses a historically time-consuming task for composers, arrangers, and educators working with existing recordings. The launch reflects a growing sector of AI tools aimed at music analysis and reconstruction, moving beyond basic melody extraction.

While the promise of accurate, automated transcription from dense mixes remains a significant technical challenge, Klang.io’s entry signals a push toward more accessible music notation workflows. The tool’s practical utility will depend on the fidelity of its output across genres and production styles.
