The beverage brand ends its long-running partnership with the London festival following political criticism of the controversial headliner.
Pepsi has terminated its sponsorship of London’s Wireless Festival. The decision follows the event’s confirmation of Kanye West as a headliner and subsequent criticism from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Starmer publicly stated he was “deeply concerned” by the booking, referencing West’s history of antisemitic comments. The festival, owned by Live Nation, announced West’s performance earlier this month. Pepsi had been a major sponsor of the event for years.
The brand’s withdrawal marks a significant commercial shift for one of the UK’s largest music festivals. It highlights the ongoing tension between artist bookings, corporate partnerships, and political pressure in the live event sector. Wireless is scheduled for July in London’s Finsbury Park.
