The Van Halen frontman made a surprise appearance during the singer’s main stage set, marking his first performance at the festival.
David Lee Roth appeared on the Coachella main stage this weekend for a guest spot with singer Teddy Swims. The performance marked Roth’s debut at the Indio festival.
Roth joined Swims and his band to perform the Van Halen classic “Jump.” After the set, Roth spoke briefly in the media area, still wearing his stage outfit. He described the spontaneous collaboration, saying he and Swims “got along like pirates.”
The appearance comes as Roth is currently on his own solo tour with his backing group, the Roth Show band. His last major performance with Van Halen was at the Hollywood Bowl in 2015.
The moment connected contemporary festival programming with rock history, a dynamic Coachella has increasingly explored in recent years. Roth’s cameo served as a brief, high-energy bridge between eras.
