Tory Lanez Files $100 Million Lawsuit Over Prison Stabbing

The incarcerated rapper is suing the California Department of Corrections following a May 2025 incident where he was stabbed multiple times.

Tory Lanez has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The legal action stems from a May 2025 incident where the rapper, legally named Daystar Peterson, was stabbed by another inmate.

Peterson is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. The new lawsuit, which also names the warden and guards at the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi, describes an unprovoked attack that left Peterson with 16 stab wounds to his back, torso, and head. He was hospitalized with a collapsed lung.

The filing criticizes the department for housing Peterson with the alleged attacker. It marks a significant legal development in a case that has remained in the public eye long after the rapper’s conviction and incarceration.
