Paul McCartney Previews Ringo Starr Duet at Abbey Road Playback

At a private playback event in Abbey Road, McCartney spoke about a song written directly for his former Beatles bandmate, featuring Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri on backing vocals.

Paul McCartney played his upcoming duet with Ringo Starr for a small audience at Abbey Road on May 5. The track, “Home To Us,” appears on McCartney’s new album The Boys Of Dungeon Lane, out later this month, and will be released as a single on Friday, May 8. Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri of Texas add backing vocals.

McCartney explained the song’s origin. “Ringo went round to the studio and drummed a bit. That shared geography, rarely discussed in their music, gives the collaboration a sense of place that goes beyond nostalgia.

The Abbey Road playback also introduced other new material from the album. Hy
