Veeze Releases Surprise Mixtape ‘Y’all Won’

The Detroit rapper drops an unexpected project, featuring a video with Playboi Carti and Lil Baby, while his sophomore album remains unscheduled.

Detroit rapper Veeze returned with a new mixtape today without any prior warning. Titled Y’all Won, the project lands nearly two years after his 2023 album Ganger, a record that solidified his standing as one of the more distinct voices working in rap. There was no rollout, no press cycle, no pre-announcement. It just appeared online.

Alongside the tape, Veeze released a video for the track “Wrong Place, Wrong Time.” Playboi Carti and Lil Baby both make cameo appearances, adding a layer of big-name presence to an otherwise understated drop. Since Ganger, Veeze has shared a handful of singles and completed his Worst Tour Ever, but the follow-up album, Worst Tape, still has no release date.

This new mixtape feels like an interlude, a way to reset the clock on anticipation while reminding listeners of his off-kilter delivery and sharp pen. In an environment where extended album cycles often frustrate fans, Veeze operates on his own timeline. The title Y’all Won reads as a nod to those who’ve been waiting, but it’s also a wink at his famously unbothered posture, something Alphonse Pierre documented in a profile last year. The tape may not answer every question about Worst Tape, but it keeps the conversation going on his terms.
