Morgan Wallen Canceled a Pittsburgh Show for a Storm That Never Came

A severe weather warning led to the last-minute cancellation, but the forecast never materialized. Wallen took to social media to explain.

Morgan Wallen’s Saturday show at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium was called off hours before stage time, blamed on “severe adverse weather conditions.” The warning was clear; the actual evening was not. Light rain passed, and the threatened storm stayed well south of the city. Fans arrived to an unusual sight: a canceled concert under an almost calm sky.

Wallen had performed the night before without issue. On Saturday afternoon, his social channels posted that local officials had advised against proceeding. Safety took priority. But when the dangerous winds didn’t reach the venue, the gap between caution and reality became hard to ignore. Later that night, Wallen explained in an Instagram Story that his team woke him with news of a high-wind forecast. He accepted the call. “I have a large stage and in those conditions, it could become fatal to a lot of folks around it,” he said. “I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment.”

The episode quickly gathered other theories. Some drew a line to Friday’s incident, where Wallen grabbed a security guard’s phone mid-show and threw it into the crowd. He dismissed the connection as “nonsense,” insisting his core fans would know that wasn’t how he operated. The next tour date is June 19 in Chicago — weather permitting.
