The Fall’s Final Recordings Surface on Posthumous Album Post Script

Eight years after Mark E. Smith’s death, the album he was working on at the time is being completed for release. Lead single “30 Degrees” is available now.

The Fall frontman Mark E. Smith died of lung and kidney cancer in 2018, leaving behind studio recordings that now form the album Post Script. The project, produced by former members Simon Archer and Ed Blaney, includes nine tracks—the first to emerge since 2017’s New Facts Emerge.

The lead single “30 Degrees,” written by Smith, Archer, and Blaney, was made public this week. The track lands with the band’s familiar jagged pulse and Smith’s words delivered in his unmistakable deadpan. No release date has been confirmed for the full album.
