The clip for the Middle of Nowhere track captures a day of tequila, karaoke, and close encounters with wildlife, as Musgraves prepares for a North American tour and an ACM honor.
Kacey Musgraves has unveiled the video for “Mexico Honey,” a track from her sixth studio album Middle of Nowhere. Directed by the duo Running Bear—Alexa Stone and Stephen Kinigopoulos—the clip was filmed in Mexico and unfolds as a sequence of sunlit excess. Musgraves sings karaoke, takes shots of tequila, leans halfway out a speeding car window, and shares an intimate shower with a love interest. In one shot, a tropical bird covers her chest; in another, she faces a boa constrictor. The video ends with her partner carrying her across a muddy street, capping a day of unfiltered escapades.
The release arrives during an active stretch for Musgraves. A North American tour in support of Middle of Nowhere begins August 20–21 in Chicago, with opening acts including Midland, Flatland Cavalry, and Estevie. She is also set to receive the ACM Honors’ Merle Haggard Spirit Award on August 19 in Nashville, recognizing artists who carry forward the country legend’s dedication to storytelling and authenticity.
