The London trio set ‘Los Bitchos & Friends Vol 1’ for November and preview the record with ‘Holding Cell,’ featuring King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s Ambrose Kenny-Smith.
Los Bitchos have spent a decade building their name on instrumental interplay, so the title of their third album reads as a deliberate shift. ‘Los Bitchos & Friends Vol 1’ arrives on November 13 through GREAT! Records in association with !K7 Music, and it pairs the London trio with a range of vocal guests without turning their music into something frontperson-driven.
The first preview, ‘Holding Cell,’ features Ambrose Kenny-Smith of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Built on the band’s driving riffs, the track folds his vocals into their instrumental grooves before opening into a wall of psychedelic guitars. It follows ‘Hang Up (Pt 2),’ which brought in Sinkane and Black Pumas guitarist Adrian Quesada.
