System of a Down Open 25th Anniversary Toxicity Reissue and Merch Capsule

The 2001 album returns with a corrected hidden track, a bonus 7-inch, and a merch line that revisits a police-shortened release party.

System of a Down’s second album is getting a 25th-anniversary treatment. The reissue of Toxicity and an accompanying merch capsule are now available through the band’s webstore, including vinyl and CD formats, shirts, skate decks, ashtrays, and other items.

The CD reissue carries new cover artwork and identifies the hidden track long known among fans as “Arto” under its proper title, “Der Voghormia,” a traditional Armenian hymn. The vinyl edition is pressed on a special color variant and includes a bonus 7” with “Johnny,” a song previously available only on rare special editions of the album.

The merch collection leans into the album’s history. Among the items are a recreation of the album release party T-shirt given exclusively to attendees before the event was shut down by police, “Chop Suey!” Chinese takeout earrings, a compact mirror, and new T-shirt and hoodie designs.

Toxicity was released on September 4, 2001. The anniversary line is available now on the band’s official collection page. The package treats the record less as nostalgia than as a document with some of its details corrected and expanded.
