Lucy Dacus Marks ‘No Burden’ 10th Anniversary With Reissue and Unreleased Track

Lucy Dacus is marking a decade since her debut album No Burden with a reissue and a song that predates the record’s public life. “No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye,” recorded with Adrian Olsen and guitarist Alan Good Parker, is out now; the full reissue follows Dec. 4 on seaglass vinyl.

The track has existed for years as a live rarity, played only a handful of times. Good Parker’s fuzzed guitar gives the arrangement a rougher edge than much of Dacus’s later work, while the lyric “I swore to myself / I would not follow your lead / So why did I get in the car every evening?” reads as direct self-questioning rather than melodrama. The reissue also brings back early material like “I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” and “Strange Torpedo.”
