Drake has pulled back part of the curtain on his “Fear of Missing Out” project, confirming on Saturday that it is not an album or a tour but “a not so short film directed and scored by the family.” The announcement came with a clip of Drake piloting a neon yellow speed boat while a female voiceover poses a split-life question: one version avoids risk and withholds love, the other finds what was missing.

The reveal ends weeks of speculation that began in August, when Drake posted family photographs captioned “FOMO 2026,” then followed with an image of a CD cover reading “Fear of Missing Out.” Fans had guessed at a record, a run of shows, or a visual release; the film framing makes the visual component central. Drake also confirmed the September 15 date, keeping the release window in place.

The slow-burn reveal fits a pattern. In April, Drake concealed the release date for his Iceman trilogy inside a large block of ice left in a downtown Toronto parking lot, prompting some fans to climb up with sledgehammers, and one to bring a blowtorch and hairspray, just to access the information. “Fear of Missing Out” now carries that same mix of control and spectacle, though this time the announcement is direct rather than physically locked away.
