KATSEYE Release “Unloveu,” the First Track With a Member’s Songwriting Credit

The WILD bonus track, previously limited to physical editions, arrives on streaming as the group’s North American tour begins and two members remain on hiatus.

KATSEYE have put “Unloveu” on streaming services, ending a stretch in which the song existed only on select CD and vinyl editions of their WILD EP. The track first appeared on those physical runs in August.

What makes it more than a catalog tidy-up is the credit line. “Unloveu” was co-written and co-produced by member Lara Raj alongside Amy Allen and Ross Golan, the first time anyone in KATSEYE has contributed to the group’s songwriting and production. For a group assembled and developed through a system built on outside writers, that is a structural shift worth noting, even if one song does not settle what comes next.

The song itself moves against the group’s established grain. Where KATSEYE’s singles have leaned on bright, uptempo arrangements, “Unloveu” is a ballad built to expose voices rather than bury them. The accompanying video follows the same logic: desaturated, restrained, far less elaborate than the visual packages the group usually releases.

Its timing is tied to the calendar. The North American leg of the WILDWORLD TOUR opens in Miami, supporting WILD — the group’s first EP to reach the top of the Billboard 200. KATSEYE are touring without Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza, both on hiatus, which puts additional weight on the remaining members’ vocals. “Unloveu,” in that light, reads less like a leftover and more like a demonstration of what the current lineup can carry.
