JHS Pedals’ Josh Scott Is Selling a Truckload of Gear on Reverb

The Josh Scott Collection opens on Reverb October 21, with hundreds of pedals, rare amps, and a fair amount of the company’s own mythology packed onto pallets.

The Josh Scott Collection, an official Reverb shop run by the founder of JHS Pedals, opens Wednesday, October 21. The inventory did not arrive by courier. A freight truck pulled up and took away pallets of it, which is the most literal reading of Scott’s own description: “It’s a truckload of things, literally.”

Hundreds of effects pedals are included, among them custom-wrapped and hand-painted JHS units that exist in editions of one. Scott has framed the shop partly as an extension of the company’s own history: “They’re rare. They’re so rare, they’ve never existed,” he said of those pieces.

Amps carry the deeper JHS lineage. A vintage Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve, the 6L6-loaded 60-watt piggyback head with its 2×12 cabinet, is on the list; that amp informed the design of the JHS Twin Twelve. A 1990s Sovtek tube head recognisable from the JHS Show appears, possibly not the exact unit, along with a Satellite amp. Some items ship in JHS-stencilled flight cases.

Then there is the ephemera. An original Barcus-Berry preamp that inspired the JHS Fumble. A Klon Centaur in a silver enclosure, and one of the original Behringer klones from before the Bill Finnegan lawsuit and the rebrand that followed. A grey spare enclosure for the JHS Colour Box. Ten guitars, keyboards, a Rhodes, a Yamaha organ and a Wurlitzer, plus stompbox costumes from Pedals: The Musical and Pedals on Ice.

Prices run from $60 to $600, with more than half the listings under $500. Scott’s stated aim, beyond moving the gear, is to one-up every band that has ever sold on Reverb.
