The six-piece K-pop group return with a hip-hop track built from knocks and doorbells, teasing an album that looks inward at their own journey.
BOYNEXTDOOR will release their debut studio album, HOME, this June. The K-pop group teased it with “ddok ddok ddok,” a track that weaves literal knocking sounds and doorbell chimes into a hip-hop beat. It’s a direct signal of the album’s intent: six members reflecting on the moments and memories that shaped them since their 2023 debut.
In a conversation with CLASH, the group explained that the onomatopoeic title stands for more than a sound. Jaehyun described it as “knocking on the doors of our fans, reaching out to meet them all over the world.” The song builds toward a coda where they name each previous single, stitching their discography into a single narrative. Taesan saw that choice as piecing together their identity through what they’ve already made.
Since arriving with buoyant, everyday-life storytelling on tracks like “Earth, Wind & Fire” and “One and Only,” the six members have worked to keep their music direct and unvarnished. With HOME, they say they looked inward more than ever before. The album doesn’t chase a grand rebrand. Instead, it documents a group trying to understand where they’ve been, and how that knowledge might open whatever door comes next.
