The Sydney band trace their path from teenage beginnings in a short film that screens with Q&As this summer, ahead of a winter tour across the UK and continent.
Sydney Northern Beaches rock band C.O.F.F.I.N will release a short documentary on 1 July, charting a career built on friendships that stretch back to childhood. 10,000 Miles From Oslo draws from over two decades of archival footage, interviews, and road material to trace the band’s evolution from school-age beginnings to their current place in Australian rock.
Founding members Ben Portnoy and Abijah Rado started playing together at 12, with Aaron Moss and Steven “Kosty” Kostogiannis joining later to round out the four-piece. Director Jake Laderman threads commentary from family, collaborators, and figures in the local music community through the film, alongside in-studio performances and early glimpses of unreleased songs.
Screenings with Q&As featuring the band and Laderman are confirmed for August in the UK: Genesis Cinema in London on 10 August and Cultplex in Manchester on 12 August. A November screening at Vaterland in Oslo follows on the 27th, with further dates across Australia, Europe, and North America. A trailer is available now.
The documentary arrives during a busy stretch for C.O.F.F.I.N. A winter tour opens at Bristol’s Exchange on 17 November and moves through Manchester, Nottingham, and London’s MOTH Club before crossing into mainland Europe. Shows in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and France close at Le Havre’s Tetris on 5 December. Tickets go on sale 4 June at 10am BST.
