Casio Announces SXC-1 Sampler for Preorder

The budget sampler previewed at NAMM is now officially unveiled, positioned as an accessible entry point for production and performance.

Casio has formally announced the SXC-1 Sampler, making it available for preorder in Japan. The instrument was first shown as a prototype at this year’s NAMM Show, where its colorful, compact design and stated affordability drew immediate attention.

Priced at ¥39,930, approximately $250, the final cost for other markets is still to be confirmed. Casio describes the SXC-1 as a tool that allows anyone to enjoy music production and performance, placing it in a competitive space for accessible hardware sampling.

Its playful aesthetic and budget-conscious positioning suggest a direct appeal to the same market as devices like the Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II. The full specifications and a global release schedule are expected to follow the initial Japanese launch.
