The Edinburgh duo-turned-quintet set their first EP for September, with Kasper Sandstrøm producing and a UK tour to follow.
Curiosity Shop have detailed their debut EP, Bound For The Sky, out 25 September. The Edinburgh group — expanded from founding duo Sonny Scott and Ruairidh Wallace to a five-piece — put the project together with producer Kasper Sandstrøm (Divorce, Do Nothing).
New single ‘Wandering Arrow’ arrives with a performance clip and follows this year’s ‘Crows’. It sharpens the band’s indie-folk leanings with a quiet sense of forward motion, steering clear of mere revivalism.
Scott frames the EP as an arc from their school friendship through moving to the city to study music. “Much of this time has been a time spent wandering,” he says, “but now, more so than ever, I feel we have an understanding of where we are going.” Wallace adds that the sound merges a “glimpse into the past” with their current influences.
A major UK tour is booked for the autumn.
