The seven-minute track arrives June 12 as the front half of an A-side single, backed by the equally long “Wo’s Patric?!?”
The first new music from DJ Koze this year is a seven-minute club track called “Spiralen.” It will be released as an A-side single on June 12 through his own Pampa label. The B-side is another extended piece, titled “Wo’s Patric?!?” A video and the single artwork are already out.
The release continues a Koze pattern: singles that arrive without explicit tie to a larger project, some later collected, others not. Last year’s album Music Can Hear Us gathered a few such tracks alongside collaborations with Damon Albarn, Pampa artist Ada, and Sofia Kourtesis. Kourtesis recently pointed to Koze as an inspiration for her DJ-Kicks mix.
Koze’s output has never followed predictable cycles. His singles often feel self-contained, built more around texture and momentum than album narrative. “Spiralen” lands in that same quiet, assured mode. No announcement of a coming LP, no framing beyond the music itself. Just the track, a longform B-side, and Pampa’s reliably minimal presentation.
