The Providence punk band announces their first full-length since 2016, sharing the new single “No Me Jodas.”
Downtown Boys have announced their first new album in nine years. Titled ‘Public Luxury,’ the record is set for release on August 23 via Sub Pop.
The band’s last full-length, ‘Cost of Living,’ arrived in 2017. The new announcement coincides with the premiere of a lead single, “No Me Jodas,” a track that reasserts their signature blend of saxophone-driven punk urgency and bilingual political critique.
The long gap between albums reflects a period of individual projects and shifting dynamics within the group. The return positions Downtown Boys within a contemporary landscape where their fusion of radical politics and visceral rock energy remains a distinct proposition. The album’s title suggests a continued focus on collective access and the contradictions of capital, themes long central to their work.
