Fame to Fortune Launches in the Billions House With Ownership, Not Endorsements, as the Focus

The inaugural Fame to Fortune gathering used a recognizable Southampton estate to make a narrower argument: fame is starting capital, not an endpoint.

The first Fame to Fortune event took place Friday in a Southampton house that fans of the HBO series Billions will recognize from the opening episode. The property, owned by entrepreneur Michael Loeb, was the setting for a conversation designed to bring together talent, capital, brands, managers, entrepreneurs, creators, and investors.

Loeb, who built the Uncharted series five years ago with his daughter Katie to connect founders, family offices, and executives, launched Fame to Fortune with Justin Barth as a companion event. The premise is directly tied to a shift Barth identified: a move from fame and endorsements toward ownership and enterprise value. The room reflected that shift by treating those worlds not as separate industries, but as one business.

The event did not position celebrity as the goal. Instead, discussion returned to Michael Jordan’s Nike deal as a reference point. If a young Jordan were emerging today, the framing asked, would he need to build Jordan Brand the same way, or would he build Jordan directly? That question sets the tone for the series: not how talent monetizes visibility, but how visibility becomes the foundation for longer-term business.
