The Bristol duo’s second LP lands in August via Breakfast Records, with a lead single that confronts mortality through sharp humor.
Getdown Services will release their second album, ‘Massive Champion’, on August 14th through Breakfast Records. The 13-track project follows their 2023 debut ‘Crisps’ and a run of EPs that kept them busy between tours.
Lead single ‘I Can’t Die Like That’ arrives with a video and sets the tone. Josh Law and Ben Sadler describe the song as an attempt to think about how even something as straightforward as dying can get complicated. The album, they say, is largely about self-pity and the unexpected realisation that all that inner-child healing stuff might not be complete bollocks. “Musically and lyrically I think it’s about us trying to clean up our act a bit.”
The tracklist moves from ‘Poor Bannister’ through to ‘600 Dance Lessons’, covering ground that feels equal parts direct and absurd. The duo’s live reputation is built on connection and chaos, and they’ve just announced a headline tour stretching from November 2026 into January 2027. It includes a night at London’s Roundhouse and two hometown shows at Bristol Beacon, with stops in Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds, Dublin, and beyond. Tickets go on general sale May 22nd at 10am.
