He followed it with “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs,” a more melodic but equally tense offering. Both songs continued his recent exploration of raw, blues-inflected garage rock, emphasizing live-band energy over studio polish.
The appearances underscore a deliberate return to a prominent mainstream stage for White, aligning with the announced summer release for his new record on Third Man Records. The performances functioned as a straightforward statement of intent for the album’s sonic direction.
