Thomann has detailed Millenium Drums’ new MPS-1500 Hybrid-X, an electronic kit built around a module that doubles as a percussion pad. The design keeps a traditional shell format while expanding live and studio routing.
Thomann has announced the Millenium Drums MPS-1500 Hybrid-X, a new electronic drum kit that combines wooden shells and mesh heads with a hybrid module and percussion pad.
The main change is the Nexus Multi-Percussion Pad. It works as a drum module and a nine-pad performance surface, with all pads freely assignable. Gain, threshold, sensitivity, mask time, and curve parameters can be adjusted for each trigger. Around the back, the unit offers eight balanced outputs, stereo and separate headphone outputs, and USB MIDI. A second USB port accepts external storage, with up to 500 MB loading roughly 600 user samples.
The module carries 3,622 sounds across 160 kit slots, half of them presets. Millenium is positioning the Hybrid-X as a space-conscious option for live players and studio use. A full hands-on review is expected to follow once units are available.
