MJ Lenderman has pulled out of his upcoming dates on Zach Bryan’s stadium tour. The singer-songwriter said he needs time off the road to rest and work on new songs.
MJ Lenderman will not join the ongoing Zach Bryan stadium tour this summer. The Asheville songwriter posted a brief statement to his Instagram Story on June 3, confirming that he and his band the Wind are no longer able to perform the dates they were booked for.
Lenderman was scheduled to open a handful of shows starting July 31 in San Diego, with further stops in Salt Lake City, Denver, Arlington, and Glendale through early September. The tour itself kicked off in March with a deep bench of support acts including Dijon, Alabama Shakes, and Ben Howard. Lenderman’s withdrawal leaves a gap in that final stretch.
His message was direct. “After years on the road, I need time to rest, recalibrate and work on new songs,” Lenderman wrote. “Thank you to Zach for the invitation. We’ll see you all another time.”
Lenderman has been a near-constant touring presence over the past few years, moving from club stages to festival slots as his profile rose. A break now, with writing on his mind, suggests the next chapter is already taking shape in private.
