The bassist’s comments arrive months after a stage accident left Neil with broken ribs and a long recovery.
Nikki Sixx has spoken plainly about the fear that settled over Mötley Crüe last year, when Vince Neil’s future as a performer hung in the balance. In a new interview, Sixx addressed the psychological toll of Neil’s recent health crisis with a candor the band rarely displays publicly.
“I can’t imagine what Vince Neil went through, to not know if I could ever do what I love again,” Sixx said. He added that hearing the grim details might actually serve a purpose for fans, a reminder of the physical risks that never leave the road.
The comment surfaces months after Neil fell hard from the stage at the Monsters on the Mountain festival in 2023. The accident broke his ribs and required surgery, forcing the group to cancel a string of dates. At the time, doctors could not guarantee Neil would regain the mobility and stamina needed to front the Crüe’s stadium shows
