Denmark’s longest-running industry showcase, SPOT Festival, has been placing Scandinavian artists in front of international bookers and labels since 1994. This year, Aarhus again opened its venues to a young, collaborative crowd, with pre-festival sets on Thursday building momentum for the official start. At Radar, the 300-capacity room inside Godsbanen, Spawner’s alt-rock harmonies set a high bar.
But by Friday evening, it was Girl Group who drew the kind of capacity crowd that forces doors to stay shut. The five-piece stepped onstage in a line, voices aligned, then exploded into motion
