After the punk impact of The New Eves’ debut album, Nina Winder-Lind turns inward with a solo pop song recorded spontaneously in a Swedish shed.
Last year, The New Eves landed with one of 2025’s sharpest punk records, The New Eve Is Rising. Now the band’s Nina Winder-Lind is stepping out alone. Today, “This Is Our Life” arrives via Transgressive, and it’s built around a pop core that caught even its writer off guard.
Winder-Lind recorded the song in a shed at her family’s cabin in northern Sweden, using an acoustic guitar, a violin, and a portable recorder. The demo, she said, “almost wrote itself.” The sparse setting produced something that felt fully formed from the start, an unlikely pop turn for a musician known for raw, collective punk. “I was surprised that I seemed to have written a pop song,” she added, “but apparently that needed to happen.”
